Intrepid UDG
Safety Gate.
A patented, self-closing safety gate for guardrail openings on stairs, ladder landings, and elevated platforms. Gravity-closing horizontal swing, universal left- or right-hand hinge, four standard sizes. Precisioneering holds Canadian distribution rights from Intrepid Industries; customers outside Canada are referred to Intrepid directly.

Pick the size that spans the guardrail opening, the closed double-bar gate should contact and extend past the opposite guardrail post by an inch or more.
Attaches to almost any guardrail.
The universal hinge mounts to the most common guardrail profiles. Pipe and square-tube guardrails use a simple add-on installation kit, no welding required.
Angle Iron
Direct bolt-up, 2 bolts for the hinge, 1 bolt for the block.
Flat Bar
Direct bolt-up, same hardware as angle iron.
Welded Plate
Direct bolt-up to existing welded plate.
Pipe
Add-on kit for 1½″ or 2″ pipe, no welding required.
Square Tube
Add-on kit for square tube up to 2½″, no welding required.
Gravity-closing.
No moving parts to fail.
The gate closes itself by gravity, it rises slightly when opened and returns closed when released. The design doesn't depend on springs, cams, bearings, or the operator.

UV-resistant polyurethane.
Built for outdoor service.
Molded from a strong, rigid, UV-resistant polyurethane, coloured throughout in safety yellow so scratches don't bare a primer surface. Fluoropolymer wear plate and bushings; galvanized hardware.

- 9-month Arizona and Florida UV exposure, no loss of tensile strength
- Safety yellow molded throughout, surface may discolor in sunlight but does not degrade

HoldTight Magnet Closure.
An add-on magnet kit holds the safety gate firmly in the closed position when wind, vibration, or motion could otherwise drift it open. Field-tested on an offshore rig along the Canadian-Atlantic coastline in 30-knot winds with gusts of 70–80 knots, with the gate held shut throughout.
